In my quest to play poker all over the place, I found myself joining PokerRoom.com. One of the things that drew my attention was the no download ability. At Pokerroom.com, you can either download their software or play right in your browser. The advantage of downloading the software is the statistic ability. If you play in the browser, you can’t keep track of your stats. For Mac users, the ability to play in the browser is a huge one. Some Mac users, like me, probably have Virtual PC (that allows us to run Windows programs on the Mac). However, it can be slow and cumbersome with some programs. I would not recommend Mac users waste time with the download version at PokerRoom.com. The browser version works very well.

The other day Bodog updated their poker software. While the poker software looks much better, it appears to run a little slow. To make sure I was not the only one who thought this, I asked some other poker players. They confirmed that the software was indeed running slower. One feature that’s nice is the multi-table side window. If you like playing multiple tables, it should be a little easier now. Overall the software is pretty decent. It has a nice find a table feature.

One of the hot properties on the strip, Caesars Palace, has just opened their new poker room. The new poker room has been luxuriously styled to please all poker aficionados. One might expect this to be an all high-limit poker room, but surprisingly, there’s low-limit tables for the poker player on a budget or who simply wants to relax. As one might expect, Caesars Palace went all out on their new poker room gem.
