The January 2006 issue of Poker Pro has hit the shelves and it’s a pretty entertaining issue. The big announcement this month from Poker Pro Magazine was that they are now going to a monthly format. This is great news if you love the magazine. Gracing this month’s issue is poker superstar Chris “Jesus” Ferguson. This month had a pretty good mix of content.

Following are some of the key articles in this month’s issue.

Starting on page fourteen, there is an interview with Howard Lederer, aka The Professor. The interview, two pages, is pretty good, albeit short. It’s basically about the rise in Texas Hold’em no limit poker—tournaments.

Page Eighteen: Virginia Tech – University of Poker
It’s a three-page article about the college students at Virginia Tech playing poker.

Page Twenty-Two: Tips on Limit Hold’em from Erick Lindgren
This couple page article is informative. Erick Lindgren talks about his different approaches to limit and no-limit games.

Page Twenty-Six: Chris “Jesus” Ferguson in the Pro’s Corner
This month, Ferguson answers questions from readers in the Pro’s Corner. He gives one good piece of advice for new comers on how an amateur should play in a tournament.

Page Thirty: Ladies of Poker – Spotlight on Clonie Gowen
Good article about a mom Clonie Gowen and her like around poker.

Page Thirty-Eight: Playing the Bend & Daub
This is a great article about cheating and what to look for when at a table.

Page Forty: A Living Legend: TJ Cloutier
There’s a couple page interview with tournament master TJ Cloutier. It’s a great read—but I wish there was more.

Page Forty-Six: Player of the Year: Chris “Jesus” Ferguson
Poker Pro’s interview with Chris Ferguson spans three solid pages.

Page fifty-nine: Courtney Friel – New WPT host for Season Four.
Beautiful Courtney Friel gives answers to Poker Pro’s interviews. She was given the same page count as Chris Ferguson, but after seeing he dazzling pictures, you’ll know why.

Page sixty-two: Mike Matusow talks strategy
Poker strategist, Mike Matusow, talks a little bit about his game with Poker Pro.

Page seventy-six: Killer Poker Online
Author of Killer Poker Online, John Vorhaus, gives some of the tips from his book. It’s a quick, but good read, for those playing online poker.
